Composition

Each ml contains Imidocarb Dipropionate INN 120 mg.

Description

BABECURE VET (Imidocarb dipropionate) is an antiprotozoal agent that exerts its therapeutic action through two primary mechanisms: first, by interfering with the production and utilization of polyamines, and second, by preventing the entry of inositol into erythrocytes containing the parasites.

Indications

Cattle:

BABECURE VET is indicated for the prevention and treatment of babesiosis and anaplasmosis.

Dosage & Administration

Route of Administration: IM or SC injection only.

Treatment of Babesiosis:

Cattle & Sheep: 1 ml/100 kg body weight (mixed infections with *Anaplasma*: 2.5 ml/100 kg; severe cases may repeat after 24 hours).
Horse: 2 ml/100 kg body weight.
Dog: 0.25 ml/10 kg body weight.

Treatment of Anaplasmosis:

Cattle: 2.5 ml/100 kg body weight.

Prevention of Babesiosis:

Cattle: 2.5 ml/100 kg body weight (provides protection up to 4 weeks).
Horse: 2 ml/100 kg body weight.
Dog: 0.5 ml/10 kg body weight.

Or as directed by the veterinary physician.

Contraindications

Animals hypersensitive to Imidocarb Dipropionate and having impaired lung, liver, and kidney function.

Side Effects

A small swelling mass (phyma) as large as a peanut at the injection site may be seen, and the animal may salivate. These symptoms are normal reactions and fade away gradually.

Precautions & Warnings

Intravenous administration is totally prohibited.

Storage Conditions

Store in a cool and dry place. Protect from direct sunlight. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.

Withdrawal Period

Meat: 28 days and Milk: 5 days must not be consumed after administration.
