Composition

Each gram powder contains Levamisole Hydrochloride BP 300 mg.

Description

Mitrax contains levamisole hydrochloride, a synthetic broad-spectrum anthelmintic highly effective against gastrointestinal and lungworms. Levamisole acts as a ganglionic nicotinic acetylcholine receptor antagonist at the neuromuscular junction of roundworms, stimulating both parasympathetic and sympathetic ganglia. It disrupts the carbohydrate metabolism of the parasite through the inhibition of fumarate reduction and succinate oxidation, leading to immobilization and subsequent death of the parasite.

Indications

Poultry:

Mitrax is indicated for the eradication of nematodes in the alimentary tract, including *Ascaridia galli*, *Heterakis gallinarum*, and *Capillaria obsignata*, as well as the respiratory tract, including *Syngamus trachea*.
The formulation can also be administered in drinking water to eliminate fowl eye worms, including *Oxyspirura mansoni*.

Dosage & Administration

Route of Administration: Oral

Poultry: 0.08 g/kg body weight, or 1 g/L of drinking water for 7 layers, 10 pullets, or 20 growers (4–6 weeks of age) as a single application.

Or as directed by the registered veterinarian.

Interaction

It should not use with Macrolides, Lincosamides and Chloromycetin together.

Precautions & Warnings
