Duozol Ds Vet
BolusComposition
Each bolus contains Triclabendazole INN 1800 mg and Levamisole Hydrochloride BP equivalent to Levamisole 1,200 mg.
Description
Duozol Ds Vet is a combination formulation of triclabendazole and levamisole indicated for the treatment and control of fascioliasis, gastrointestinal roundworms, and lungworms in cattle, sheep, and goats. Triclabendazole functions by inhibiting the energy metabolism of helminths. Levamisole acts on the neuromuscular junctions of nematodes as a ganglionic nicotinic acetylcholine agonist, inducing muscular contraction and stimulating the parasympathetic and sympathetic ganglia of susceptible parasites. Additionally, levamisole interferes with carbohydrate metabolism in nematodes by blocking fumarate reduction and succinate oxidation. The combined pharmacological action results in paralysis of the parasite, facilitating its expulsion from the host.
