Composition

Each vial contains Ampicillin Sodium BP 212 gm equivalent to 20 gm Ampicillin along with 10 ml WFI.

Indications

Animals:

Ampicin-Vet is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial diseases in animals.
The formulation is effective against pneumonia, foot rot, enteritis, salmonellosis, and calf scours.
It is additionally used for infected wounds, fever, colibacillosis, metritis, and mastitis.
The product also helps manage pyelonephritis, blackleg, joint infections, kidney infections, and hemorrhagic septicemia.

Dosage & Administration

Route of Administration: IM or IV injection (reconstitute with 10 ml WFI). Dose rate: 7 mg/kg body weight once daily (twice daily in severe infections).

Cattle & Buffalo (50 kg): 10–25 ml.
Cattle & Buffalo (100 kg): 20–50 ml.
Cattle & Buffalo (200 kg): 40–100 ml.
Goat & Sheep (10 kg): 2–5 ml.
Goat & Sheep (20 kg): 4–10 ml.
Cat & Dog (10 kg): 5–10 ml.
Cat & Dog (20 kg): 10–20 ml.

Contraindications

The drug is contraindicated in animals hypersensitive to Ampicillin.

Side Effects

At the recommended dosage, Ampicin Vet is relatively non-toxic and free from adverse effects. Moreover, skin rash, pain at the site of injection, diarrhoea, etc. may occur.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Ampicin Vet is safe in pregnancy and in the lactating period in animals.
