Description
Amflor Vet Plus contains florfenicol, a synthetic broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against most gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. As a fluorinated derivative of chloramphenicol, florfenicol functions as a bacteriostatic agent by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis through binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. The formulation also includes flunixin meglumine, a potent, non-narcotic, non-steroidal analgesic agent with anti-inflammatory and antipyretic activities. Flunixin meglumine works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins and other mediators that stimulate the inflammatory response.
